Devin is two!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Devin's 2nd birthday with our friends and family. Food, cake, presents, TWO pinatas and candy, what's not to like? It was a very chilly and windy day, but we still had a great time.

Giggle Box

Here's Devin, cracking up again! He and Alex were looking at a picture of a baby eating and Alex said, "What's he eating?" Apparently, Devin thought this was hilarious!

When Alex went away I gave it a try, but wasn't nearly as funny.

Alex came back and the giggles started up again!

Graffiti Legs

As a mom, sometimes you have to think quickly and give your child something to occupy him for a moment while you tend to something else. Sometimes, if you're not wise in your choices, you end up with this:

By the way, I did give him paper too. Apparently he ran out of room on the paper and needed a new canvas!

Another beautiful day in the gardens

The kids and I visited the Botanic Gardens again today, this time with some friends. Alex had a blast running around with his little buddies and Devin had a blast just running around.

Because it grows that fast

Today was haircut day for the boys. On the drive to the haircut place, out of the blue Alex said, "Hurry Mommy! Our hair is almost long!"

The special treat on haircut day is the coveted lollipop of course!

I let Devin hold onto his lollipop during lunch and

this is what he did. Dipped it in his soup!

jumping on the bed! We don't let the boys jump on the bed too often, but when it was time to upgrade our mattress we let them jump to their hearts' content!

the Perfect day

Today was THE most beautiful day we've had here this year. The sun was out, but it wasn't too hot and it wasn't too cold, and not too windy. Just perfect for being outdoors. We took advantage of the nice weather by heading to the Botanic Gardens. The kids had a great time just running around. And of course they loved seeing the fish and turtles in the pond. Devin was happy picking flowers (which I'm sure you're not supposed to do!). Alex was excited to see Cactus for some reason (maybe because there's Cactus in the Cars movie?). We all had a wonderful time.

Simple solutions 2

Today we were playing outside, but it was a bit warmer than I thought it was going to be. Devin had a long-sleeved shirt on so I was headed inside to get him a short-sleeved shirt. I said to Alex, "I need to get Devin a t-shirt." He said, "Oh, you can go buy one at Kohl's!"

Laughing out loud

You never know what silly, simple thing will make the kids crack up. On this day, for Devin it was the Wonder Pets. In one part of the dvd the duck is trying to climb up a mountain and keeps sliding down. I kept rewinding it so I could listen to his cute giggling.

It's hard work.

Every once in a while I will find Alex asleep, literally in the midst of playing. Yesterday I left Alex at home with Joey while I took Devin to the doctor, and this is how I found him when I got back.
